Bridging Classroom Learning and Site Realities
Continuing our strong collaboration with the GM Institute of Technology (GMIT) / GM Engineering College, Davangere, AARAA Infrastructure recently hosted a group of promising civil engineering graduates at our corporate headquarters in Chennai. The week-long practical training and orientation program, conducted from June 7th to June 13th, 2026, aimed to equip these fresh engineers with the industry-relevant technical competencies, project methodologies, and safety certifications required to manage live construction sites across India.
The transition from academic theory to site execution is one of the most critical stages in an engineer's career. At AARAA, we believe that investing in structured onboarding and practical training is vital to maintaining our standards of engineering excellence. Over the course of the week, the students interacted directly with our senior project leads, design experts, and safety directors, gaining deep insights into AARAA's key sectors: utility-scale Solar EPC, Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), and high-rise institutional developments.
The Training Curriculum: From Blueprint to Billing
The curriculum was designed by our Technical and HR heads to replicate the real-world challenges of a Junior Site Engineer. The students went through a series of modules covering both technical and project management aspects:
- Structural Drawing Interpretation: Reading and analyzing complex structural blueprints, reinforcement schedules, and precast wall shop drawings.
- Quality Control & Concrete Technology: Hands-on exposure to material testing regimes, concrete mix designs, slump testing protocols, and core compression testing standards.
- Billing, Estimation & Quantity Surveying: Understanding measurement books (M-Books), joint measurement reports (JMR), and modern estimation software.
- Site Safety & EHS Management: Strict briefing on Environment, Health, and Safety guidelines, hazard identification, and safety exclusion zones.
"Practical exposure is what transforms an engineering student into a builder. Our intensive 1-week training program in Chennai has prepared these graduates to take charge of complex construction sites."— AARAA Managing Director
Welcoming the Future: 4 Junior Site Engineers Appointed
Following rigorous daily assessments, group technical presentations, and final personal interviews, AARAA Infrastructure is proud to announce the formal appointment of 4 outstanding GMIT graduates as Junior Site Engineers. These newly appointed engineers have demonstrated excellent technical grounding, site-adaptability, and leadership potential.
The appointed engineers were presented with their official offer letters and onboarding kits by AARAA's management team. They will be deployed immediately to our key ongoing project sites, including the 180 MWp Solar EPC project in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, and the 132 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid project in Kudligi, Karnataka. Under the mentorship of our seasoned project directors, they will oversee site activities, manage subcontractor workflows, and ensure quality compliance on the ground.
Strengthening Industry-Academia Ties
This training and placement initiative represents a natural progression of AARAA Infrastructure's campus recruitment drive conducted at the GMIT campus. By inviting students to our corporate office, exposing them to our design engineering tools, and providing immediate employment to top performers, AARAA is actively working to bridge the skills gap in the Indian construction industry.
We congratulate the newly selected Junior Site Engineers and welcome them to the AARAA family. We also express our sincere appreciation to the placement division and management of GM Institute of Technology, Davangere, for their continued support in fostering this valuable partnership.
